This is our fully legal 16 passenger Hummer Limo.  Fully licenced and insured for up to 16 passengers for "Hire and Reward"

To use a vehicle with more than 8 passenger seats the vehicle must meet strict standards and be licenced with the autorities. For you and your childrens safety this vehicle complies with all the legal requirements. Read on.....

 The Govt Authority for licencing these vehicles is called VOSA, the same people that licence buses and coaches. To meet the high standards the vehicle must be examined and tested to receive a Certificate of Initial Fitness, refered to as a c.o.i.f.

This is a copy of the c.o.i.f. issued to our Hummer Limousine. This model is now called a Hummerzine. We are not aware of any other 16 seat Hummer Limo based in Yorkshire that has achieved this standard.

If you have booked a limousine with more than 8 passenger seats and the limo company supplies the driver then the limo must have one of these certificates AND be licensed with VOSA.

To modify a Hummer Limousine to meet the strict standards is very expensive, as such many people just ignore the rules and take a risk.

To be fair, there has been little enforcement so far but as from 1 October 2009 VOSA received new powers to confiscate and crush vehicles that are not operating legally. VOSA have also stated that they will be targeting the Limousine Industry and no doubt there will be a high profile case in the near future.

This is a good thing as it will ensure a level playing field and a higher standard of quality and safety for the customer.
